Angelo State is a Div. II power house, they gave SFA all they could handle when they came to Nac. in 2020.

Midwestern State is always up there in the rankings.

West Texas A&M had interest from the WAC to join.

So all and all it would be do able, plus those programs have good baseball and other sports teams that would keep them afloat.

Maybe even Texas A&M -Kingsville

It would be pretty cool to have an all Texas Conference.
If I remember correctly, the President of WTAM was one who put the idea out there, so sure it has been discussed. I am not sure if the WAC charter could be used for it to happen or not. Honestly, for me, there are pros and cons to such a conference but there are worse things as well. The schools you listed could all do it if the will was there. Besides, if the WAC was going to die, let it get reborn as something worthwhile.
