It is a step in the right direction.

My only concern is: Will players take the quick $125K and play in front of small crowds in smaller cities, or choose to play in front of 20K screaming fans on national television (and get secret money on the side).

And technically, these players aren't really one-and-done as few if any actually finish their freshman year.
