I actually got into the Sixers in 1975 when they tried to get better by adding George McGinnis, who had been with the ABA Indiana Pacers. The next year when Julius signed was the big catalyst for my youthful love for the Sixers ..
Lloyd Free was another player I liked. Doug Collins, Steve Mix, Jelly Bean Bryant, Dawkins and Henry Bibby as well

I can’t even name five NBA players right now though, the last NBA finals I remember was 1998 Utah versus Chicago

    Re: 2024-25 NBA Season

I agree with a lot of the sentiments expressed above. I stopped following the NBA/Sixers years ago as it just seemed to be a lot of "one on one" games within a game. I preferred the college game, more. However, I had great admiration for the skills of some of the guys like Erving, Bird, Johnson, Jordan. But, again, the lack of consistency with the rules drove me crazy. Some day I expect them to run up and own the court without dribbling. I will say that since the Sixers got Maxey, and my wife if now limited in going out, she likes watching Sixers, because of him. Embiid is problematic. A guy with a lot of talent, but tremendously accident/injury prone. Numerous broken bones. As for the NBA itself, it seems like a joke. What is this "Cup" thing. You know your sport is in trouble with they have to come up with such gimmicks.

Is Reed Sheppard already a bust this early? He just got assigned to the G League.
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

Wait... how far apart are the NBA and the Euroleague? So far apart, I think...

AD and Luka switch teams in the most blockbuster trade in the NBA in a while, with the Jazz also being involved.

Also: De'Aaron Fox moves to San Antonio and Zach LaVine off to Sacramento, also involving the Bulls.

Jimmy Butler is off to SF for Wiggins, Schroder and Kyle Anderson. Glad the saga is over?

    Re: 2024-25 NBA Season

Watched some Game 2 of the 1977 NBA finals from the Spectrum

    very entertaining basketball

Dr J spectacular and a great team player. I didn’t remember his passing skills

but it’s all about to fall apart on the Sixers now
