    Re: CAA Pick'em Week 12 2024

Time is flying - but down the stretch and we have four contenders in the hunt.

    The games this week:

    #9 VILLANOVA (5-1, 8-2) @ MONMOUTH (2-4, 4-6)
Series: Monmouth 2-0. 1st game at MU.
The Hawks schedule catching up with them as they are faltering down the stretch after a nice start. Villanova just quietly keeps winning. The Wildcat defense has given up only 23 points in their last three conference games - tested here but they should hold enough for the win.

    #11 RICHMOND (6-0, 8-2) @ HAMPTON (2-4, 5-5)
    Series; UR 4-1
The Pirates have flattened a bit after a pretty hot October while the Spiders rallied to beat Campbell last Saturday and pushed their winning streak to 8 games. Tempting to pick a Hampton win here but the Spiders have the juice to rally when needed. I see a lot of TFLs in Hampton for UR and a solid 9th consecutive win. This Spider team is on a mission.

    #16 STONY BROOK (5-1, 8-2) @ UNH (4-2, 6-4)
    Series: UNH 8-3
One upside of a 16 team league is you are assured of at least one captivating/meaningful game every week - and this one fits the bill for week 12. SBU has been on a nice run coming in on a 4 game win streak. UNH just hangs around, still in contention, and I think will be motivated enough for a possible playoff berth to pick off the Seawolves this weekend. Wildcats by around 10 points.

    UALBANY (1-5, 3-7) @ URI (5-1, 8-2)
    Series: URI 6-5
Rams competed well in their only CAA loss last week at Delaware and rebound nicely this week against the struggling Danes. This might be the first real blowout for URI this season, one which they have been successful in rallying for late wins and pulling out many tight games. Rams roll.

    MAINE (3-3, 5-5) @ ELON (3-3, 4-6)
    Series: Maine 3-2
Appear to be two evenly matched teams here. Elon has found some mojo with Dowling at the lead. This could go either way but I think the combination of a home game and Elon still flush from a gutty win @ W&M last Saturday will propel the Phoenix in this one.

    BRYANT (0-6, 2-8) @ W&M (3-3, 6-4)
    Series: 1st Meeting
Most interesting to see how the Tribe responds to a gut wrenching loss last Saturday - against a Bulldog team that had shown fight but has yet to pick up a conference win. W&M best be careful and prepared in this one. There are mumblings already about the disappointing results this season and the coaching preparation. London best have this team ready heading into the last game at Richmond - I’m going to assume he does and the Tribe pulls out a win on Senior Day.

    NC A&T (0-6, 1-9) @ TOWSON (3-3, 5-5)
    Series: Towson 1-0
Can the Tigers put together a couple consistent weekends? They won’t need too much to make it two in a row. The Tigers should put this one away early.

    CAMPBELL (1-5, 3-7) @ DELAWARE (8-1)
    Series: Hens 1-0
Camels lost a great opportunity for a signature win last Saturday. I don’t think they will be as fortunate this week. The Hens should and will likely run big holes through the Camel defense. Hens will run away with this one, a 30+ point win.

    Towson-NCA&T stinks Towson 42-14
Villanova- Villanova is overrated but will find a way to eek out a win vs a Monmouth teams who's morale is definitely in the dumpster. 30-27 southern cats
Richmond- Hampton will play very tough, Richmond will bounce back after the crappy performance last week.
Delaware- SoupU can apparently play tough when it wants to but UD will win, the real question is, who even cares?
    W&M- Bryant stinks
URI- Backup or Farrell gets a week of practice/rest. Albany doesn't have the horses.
Maine- I think Maine plays tough and Elon's luck will run out, 30-24 black bears.
UNH- I think SBU is overrated, I am happy for their turn around from last season. I do think that if UNH plays well in all 3 phases like it did vs Monmouth we will win at home with a similar 33-21 ish score.

You may be way off target this week; I agree with all your choices!
