ESPN bowl predictions for Temple are terrible
One guy has us playing TCU on their home field in the Armed Forces Bowl. The other dude has the Owls in a regular season rematch against Boston College in the Military Bowl.
Several bowl games have already begun to announce teams.
Bahamas Bowl - FIU vs Toledo
Arizona Bow - ArkSt vs _____ (MWC)
Camellia Bowl - Georgia Southern vs. ______ (MAC)
Cure Bowl - Sun Belt #2 (AppSt / Louisiana) vs ________ (AAC)
New Orleans Bowl - Sun Belt #1 (AppSt / Louisiana) vs _______ CUSA
Hawaii Bowl - Hawaii vs. Louisiana Tech
Edited post above rather than make two
Crazy that each g5 conference has a conference championship game now, much less the MWC game being in primetime.
Yeh, but it'll be against the ACC and Big10 champ games on ABC and Fox
UAB wins the CUSA Championship
App State wins the Sun Belt Championship
Temple vs Duke in the Independence Bowl. This is a bowl game I'm excited about!
AAC Bowl line-up
Cure Bowl 12/15
Tulane (6-6) vs Louisiana-Lafayette (7-6)
Gasparilla Bowl 12/20
South Florida (7-5) vs Marshall (8-4)
Birmingham Bowl 12/22
Memphis (8-5) vs Wake Forest (6-6)

I think there's about a 60/40 chance Collins is still our coach come game time. He's definitely going to get some feelers (Georgia Tech for sure) but I'm not sure they'll be good enough to pull him away after 2 years. I think he has his sights set on a top level P5 gig.

Liberty coach Turner Gill has informed his team he is retiring immediately to take care of his wife, Gayle, who has a heart condition
Looks like Appalachian State is losing their head coach to University of Louisville.

UMass names Walt Bell as next head coach; was Florida State OC:
He's likely working towards a full-on holiday food coma right now. I'm sure when the big guy awakes he'll be as pissy as usual. At least Weis was somewhat of a happy portly fellow. Mangino treated everyone like they stole his piece of the pie. He could definitely coach though. Brought a version of the run 'n shoot to Oklahoma in 1999 and won a title with it in 2000. That style of offense was unheard of in the Big 12 outside of Lubbock. Nebraska was still a top 5 program running the option. At Texas, Ricky Williams had just broke the rushing record.
What's that sleezeball Art Briles up to these days? I feel like some crooked AD will be calling his name again....
Rumor has it that Geoff Collins interviewed with Georgia Tech yesterday.
It's either going to be Ken Wisenhunt or Collins for the Ramblin' Wreck gig....
This sucks! Temple will be on their 5th head coach in less than 10 years! If nothing else, it shows the strength of our program!
If he bolts there's no way in hell I'm driving to Shreveport. Nothing like having to play another bowl game with a temporary staff....ugh....

Confirming multiple reports, former Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze will be introduced as Liberty’s new coach in a 2 p.m. news conference, source told @WatchStadium
Curt Cignetti's resume is actually very strong. In addition to being the head coach at Elon and previously D2 IUP, he was also an assistant coach at Pitt, NC State, and Alabama (and before that, Temple), and was the recruiting coordinator at both NC State and Alabama. At NC State, he coached Phillip Rivers and successfully recruited Russell Wilson (before Wilson eventually transferred to Wisconsin). At Alabama, he was an assistant on one national championship team (2009) and his recruits played major roles on two others (2011, 2012). IMO, he should be a serious candidate at Temple.
The favorite probably should be former Temple assistant and current Baylor associate head coach Fran Brown, IF Temple is interested in Brown (who is in his mid-30s) and former Temple head coach and current Baylor head coach Matt Rhule, who also coached Brown as an assistant when Brown played at Western Carolina, thinks Brown is ready to be a head coach.
If we do better than Collins we'll be looking for another new coach after next year. The whole situation is a joke and why I really don't go "all in" supporting the football program because it's impossible to truly build anything. Thankfully we are and always will be a basketball school. I can safely say Aaron McKie won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
Temple hires Miami DC Manny Diaz. Hopefully he does a great job for the 2-3 years he's on North Broad. I could honestly see Diaz replacing Taggert at Florida State with a big 2019 season.
