IMO, I think the outcome of The Brawl will depend on which Griz coaching staff does the game planning.

I have been a season ticket holder since 1984, and this team has become one of my favorite Ga. Southern teams. They played with a lot of heart against some very good teams.

Just back from a great weekend in Spartanburg. I have to admit that I didn't expect us to take that one, but if the Eagles can continue to play like they did in the second half yesterday we might just hang in for a while. Even though we lost, it was a great weekend in Spartanburg. Absolutely great atmosphere on the best lil' campus in the US. Hats off to GSU - we couldn't stop the FB (or either the quick pitch or speed option to the left on EVERY third down) and didn't make the big plays when we needed to.

One more this week, then a new start. New season. New goals.

Hope the SoCon gets at least 3 teams in. Great year in the conference.

GSU is back, obviously. Except for the score, it was a great weekend--perfect football weather, great fans, and two proud schools fighting it out on the gridiron. It was nice to have met Eaglesrus, his lovely wife and fellow Eagle fans. I have no doubt you'll have a great run in the postseason. If the Mocs cooperate, we may be biting some ankles in the playoffs.

Maybe it’s just because this is the AGS board and not another school’s forum site. As far as GSU being back I still use the Erk Russell, Paul Johnson years and those recruits/players as the baseline for all other teams. While we have the coaching staff in place I still think we’re a few recruits off from being the FCS power we were in the 80s & 90s. If we do make the national championship game & play well I’ll have to reassess this years team and eat some crow. (It will make me feel more comfortable when the playoffs come and everyone picks sides.)

They got one call where the ref said their receiver was out of bounds that was clearly b.s. after watching the replay. We owe them one for that. Hope Wofford can take care of business next week and get into the playoffs. SoCon title was up for grabs this year for about half the convference, I feel extremely fortunate that we came out on top. Hope our fellow conference teams have a good showing in the playoffs.

No doubt that he was in bounds. The problem was he was bobbling the ball going out of bounds. The replay showed the catch from behind so you never saw the ball, it was the correct call.

but seriously, it was a pretty well-called game overall I think, other than the one instance when GSU broke the huddle with 12 players and then called a timeout and there was no call, and this 50-50 call (I'm a homer :p don't present facts to me at this point) there was not much to say about the calls, and they didn't effect the outcome of the game

There were less GSU fans there yesterday as there were the year before. The score was closer last year. Is it possible that Wofford plays better in a more pro-GSU atmosphere?

Who knows? I think part of it is the change in tickets this year. I didn't make the trip last year so I'm not sure how the ticket allocation was but from what the ticket office said this year we only got 1000 tickets. Also wasn't it general admission last year rather than reserved seating?

he's missed a few games with injury so I don't think we'll lose anything necessarily if he's suspended. Though he is a great pass defender
