I hate these early starts. Kickoff scheduled for 12 noon MST from Nottingham Field in Greeley, Colorado, for a conference game between the Vikings of Portland State and the hometown Bears of Northern Colorado. This is the last game of the year for the Bears and the last opportunity to get their elusive first win. However, they have improved every week since the start of the year and will be tough this week. The Vikings still play next week and still harbor some hope of a playoff spot. The Vikings will start Connor Kavanaugh at quarterback as usual while the Bears will counter with Seth Lobato to lead the Bears. Northern Colorado took the game last year at Hillsboro 35-30. Weather should be not much of a factor with partly cloudy skies and temps near 60 at kickoff.

So the Big Sky admits they cheated us out of a win not that it matters we suck and they got what they needed. It's just a shame the playing field can't be level and agendas have to take precedence. Once the cheating stops maybe we can really play football but who am I kidding? Crooked refs are impossible to overcome.

Don't feel too bad. The ref at the UC Davis vs Cal Poly game made so many horrific calls, three of which lead directly to either Cal Poly not scoring or Davis scoring. In one case, he spotted the ball at the 8 yard line for Davis giving them a 1st and goal on a 4th down conversion. Everyone saw that he clearly never crossed the 10 yard line. While the ref is shaking his head at the boos from the CP crowd, the video board replays it right over his head and confirms that neither the ball nor the receiver ever crossed the 10!! Davis wins 24-17. Poly is out of the playoffs. BTW, they then announce the ref has just proposed to his girlfriend. Really?
