"Maine plans to run a spread offense next year, and has been adjusting during the off-season."

Nice crowd on hand (200-300) and absolutely beautiful, sunny, 70-degree weather. Most of the crowd was in shorts and t-shirts.

The two writeups are pretty accurate. Defense looked very good, and the offenses started slowly and sputtered before finally getting on track.

The new offense is definitely fun to watch. And tough to defend. Once the two QBs found their rythym, they were moving the chains pretty effectively. A few clunky throws here and there, and a few drops. But all in all, I'd grade it at about a B or B-minus. Not midseason form, but pretty good for spring ball -- especially with, literally, every single running back injured, not to mention senior starting OG Justin Roberts still rehabbing a knee.

Most noticeable was that always present Black Bear intensity. I've never seen guys who like each other so much knock the dog crap out of each other with such glee, when they cross the sidelines.

It's going to be a fun year.

Looks like he only likes to send our team to South Dakota. Ole'Sam isn't too popular in Statesboro these days except for the hiring of BVG.
