View Full Version : About all this conference realignment:

I was thinking: I wonder if someone could just gather together all the presidents and ADs of all the schools and all the conference commissioners into an auditorium, and just go on stage and do like what Peter Griffin did in that Family Guy where he played Jesus in Passion Of The Christ being whipped by that Roman guard, and he just goes...

"Stop it. OK??... Stop it... Stop it."

These men have reached the point where the Benjamins are more important to them than the welfare of the student athletes they represent, and in actuality, the foundation principles of college athletics in America (I mean, Boise State in the Big East? Shoot me in the ******ing head). I almost never post in any discussions online about these realignments, but I did read a good article recently on specuation that ESPN is the draving force behind all this. I never take part in these discussions, because after hearing of all these schools claim that they're in negotiations with conferences that are on the opposite corner of the continental US as their campus, I have gotten SICK to my stomache thinking about this.

Now, I am one of the LEAST aversive people to change you'll ever find. But as a college FB fan, I REALLY am dreading the prospect of following the standings of some 32-team mega-conference or an ACC with freakin' Baylor or GOD knows who in it.

Does any of this make any of you want to BARF???

I can easily see the day when I have completely lost interest in all of this foolishness. Much as I have lost interest in most professional sports.

The NBA was the first pro league to completely turn me off.

The NFL will be next if they let the Vikings move.

Imagine if this NCAA conference BS keeps up...

I'll be running out of sports outlets here!!!

Don't think I could be a hardcore CFL fan. I follow the game casually and casually cheer for the Blue Bombers (Swaggerville!!!), but it would be hard. It's hard getting excited for a league that only has 8 franchises.

The Argonauts are a running joke in Toronto and everywhere in Canada. Whenever I see someone wearing an Argos shirt or jersey, I point and laugh. It's not like they'll gang up on me or anything, there's only like 6 Argos fans in existence...
