Lafayette announced its first ever scholarship men's basketball recruits:

Rome wasn't built in a day, and these four probably won't lead the Pards to an immediate NCAA Tournament bid. I'm really not sure what we expected though, given the late announcement of the lifting of the ban on scholarships. Anyway:
MAREK KOLTUN - 6'10", 265 pound center from Krakow, Poland; played his high school ball at Caravel Academy in Bear, Delaware. Lafayette needed to get bigger, and this is the biggest player that has been signed since Stefan Ciosici arrived in 1995. (That last sentence is from the press release. What about "Baby Huey" Hughes, the totally ineffective 7'1" center who graduated last year?) Like Ciosici, Koltun just may be a "project" that will yield big results (no pun intended) in a few years.
ANDRE HINES - 6'7", 215 pound forward from Denver. His strength is rebounding, and he could be an immediate contributor.
JESPER ANDERSEN - 6'7", 190 pound small forward from Norrkoping, Sweden. Shoots the "3" well for a front court player. A sharp shooting forward: Fran's kind of guy.
MICHAEL GRUNER - 6'1", 180 pound shooting guard from Bethesda, MD. The Pards found their point guard last year in Andrew Brown. If Bilal Abdullah can curtail his tendency to be a human turnover machine, he and Gruner may provide a serious backcourt shooting threat.
