He was one of the few bright spots for the Sam Houston State football team last season.
A big, elusive, pass catching tight end who could stretch the field. He was a matchup nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators, much like the Kansas City Chiefs Tony Gonzalez and San Diego Chargers Antonio Gates.
He is a perfect fit of the mold of the next generation of play-making tight ends. And Monday, his biggest dream became a reality.
Corey Roberts is taking his game to the next level after signing an undrafted free-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts.
“It’s a dream come true,” Roberts said in a telephone interview Tuesday afternoon. “Every since I was a little kid I wanted to play in the NFL. I’m just happy to have the opportunity.”
