Lafayette's Andrew Brown Selected by Edmonton in 2006 CFL College Draft

Windsor, Ontario native was a four-year letterwinner at defensive end and a starter on two Patriot League championship teams

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette senior Andrew Brown (Windsor, Ontario/W.F. Herman) was selected by the Edmonton Eskimos with the first pick in the fourth round (26th overall) of the Canadian Football League College Draft on Thursday.

Brown, a four-year letterwinner at defensive end for the Leopards, is listed at linebacker on the CFL draft site and checked in at 6-1 and 238 pounds at the evaluation camp.

A second team All-Patriot League selection by The Sports Xchange last season, Brown was fourth among his teammates with 72 tackles, with seven coming behind the line of scrimmage. He also had a sack, an interception and a forced fumble as a member of a Lafayette defense that was ranked in the top 20 in the nation in five statistical categories, including ninth in scoring defense at 17.0 points per game.
