The Flyers cllimbed back into the playoffs with a spirited win over Buffalo, tonight, while across the street, the Phillies were out slugging Colorado, 9-5; however, the Flyers had 19,984 in the Wachovia Center while the Phils drew only 19,182....

Wow...hadn't heard the attendence numbers...Phils now in second (even if they are still below .500) and the Flyers are back in it...a good night all in all...

The Phillies crowds are sinking to Vet-like numbers. Futility seeks its own attendance level.

2nd place means nothing to a fan when the team is below .500

Yeah, but they won in regulation so this does not bode well.

I agree, but you must have missed my post on the other thread where I pointed out that the two times the Flyers have come back from an 0-2 hole they won games 3 and 4 in OT. :eyebrow:

The Phils are playing decent baseball right now. Gordon has been a pleasant surprise and Meyers is starting to look like a legit #1 starter. If the Phillies can get some consistency out of the rest of their staff, they have a chance to be competitive.

In '92, when Camden Yards opened, Bill Giles mentioned that he thought the Phils needed a new stadium to draw fans. A high-school dropout co-worker of mind had a better plan for drawing fans:
"Field a competitive team you jacka$$es!"

I meant this as a sort of tounge in cheek comment...other than the Mets...the Phils are the best of the mediocre in the NL East right now...there, of course, is a long way to go.
