Furman vs. GSU should be another epic renewal of the now classic rivalry, started back in the 1985 diamond bowl!

Haha, no problem mate maybe you are right, hating losing to FU only makes you human.
What about in 2008 when Chris Covington called that elusive 4th timeout for GSU and was not penalized for it, cost FU a playoff bid IMO ;)

I really think the two schools should develop a trophy that goes to the victor every year after the game, maybe even officially call it the Diamond Bowl ;)

Furman will be going for their 3rd straight win in the "Boro", how many teams have ever won 3 straight games down there against you guys?

Newberry - three in a row
Troy - five in a row
Wofford - three in a row (still active)

And that's it.

Cool, thanks for looking that up my friend.

I am still searching for some video on the web of FU's 1988 National Championship win over GSU but can't find anything yet, I have the game television broadcast recorded on tape but its Beta version haha, I guess I should really look into getting that converted so I can post highlights online, that was another great game and obviously its my all time favorite win over the eagles, I would have to say that my second favorite win over GSU was in the Semifinals in 2001, FU went down to Statesboro and gave GSU their first ever playoff loss at home and also ended Adrian Petersons senior season by holding him under 100 yards for the game for I believe the first and only time in his entire career if memory serves me correct.

Normally, I would have voted FU-GSU, but I just don't think it's going to be as competitive this year.
I went with ODU-Towson in a game of upstart CAA schools.

They all have some merit as to why I'd like see them and I do think that FU/GSU will be a good game and the exact thing you mention about the CAA upstarts was going through my mind as well but I just couldn't get past the SUU/Cal Poly matchup.

Ahh...I dont' care who it is really, I just like seeing Emory do the AGS GOTW Previews.xlolx

Time will tell very soon about FU's potential this season, but the odds are always in favor of this rivalry game which is one of the absoulute best in FCS, of coming down to the final minute ;)
