Prior to the season everyone knew JMU would have a dominant defense, but the biggest concern was the team's OL and QB. Last year's offense was miserably bad ... and many point out that it was because we had a very young OL that could not open up holes. Towards the end of the season the young OL began to gel. This year, JMU's offensive line has been dominant. Thorpe and Edwards have not played any better than Drew Dudzik did last year, yet the offense is churning up yards, in large part because of the OL.
DO NOT under-estimate the value of a good offensive line. If you are starting some young guys, much like JMU did last year (2 freshmen, soph), getting them experience early only makes your offensive line that much more promising down the line despite early struggles and JMU is experiencing that right now.
