Sort of leaves a bad taste in one's mouth... one of the last few stadiums to avoid naming rights...

The New Orleans Saints and Mercedes-Benz have reached an agreement on a 10-year naming rights deal for the recently renovated Superdome that officially changes the name of the iconic stadium to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The deal marks the first time in the stadium's 36-year history that the building will be known by something other than the Louisiana Superdome.

Who else has called the Superdome by its full name? Hardly any outside the sports world.

People will still call it the Superdome. The local minor league stadium where the Barons play has been Regions Park for years and I still cal it the Hoover Met most of the time.

I think people generally call stadiums by their old, non-corporate name anyway. Newer stadiums born with a corporate name I usually call "The place where the (name of team plays) their games.
