Has anyone else ever played 'Topgolf'? Topgolf is an enhanced driving range, but it's all electronically tracked via microchips embedded in the golf balls. A computer screen display in your driving bay allows you to automatically track each shot by telling you how far you hit the ball at one of the 8 or 9 targets (ranging in size from 5 yards to 25 yards to a 50 yard wide net-cage at the end of the range for drives) that represent flag locations. A number of different games are available too. Oh yeah...and they serve beer to your bay!!! :D
I've been a member for about a year now...I love it. It's actually improved my game dramatically because now I know exactly how far I can hit each of my clubs. :hurray:
There's only one of these driving ranges in the country, in Alexandria VA, but there are talks of others throughout the country over the next 10 years.

Here's an article by Sports Illustrated about the game...

If you're ever in the Washington, D.C. area with some time to kill, you should definitely stop by. A warning though...you'll never want to go back to those 'other driving' ranges again!
