“Touch the Trophy Day” Set For May 1 in Winston-Salem

BOONE, N.C. — The excitement of the 2005 national championship invades the Piedmont Triad on Monday, May 1 when Appalachian State University celebrates “Touch the Trophy Day” at the River Birch Lodge in Winston-Salem. The celebration runs from 4-5:30 p.m. and admission is free.
Head coach Jerry Moore, athletics director Charlie Cobb, Winston-Salem mayor Allen Joines will all be on hand for the festivities, along with the 2005 NCAA Division I-AA and Southern Conference championship trophies. Moore will sign autographs, pose for pictures and discuss the road that lies ahead for the Mountaineers in 2006 as they “Go For 2!”
The River Birch Lodge is located at 3324 Robinhood Road in Winston-Salem (phone: 336-768-1111).
