New Mexico coach Mike Locksley was fired Sunday, one day after yet another tough loss and another embarassing off-the-field incident.
...
The Lobos dropped to 0-4 this season after losing to FCS Sam Houston State 48-45 on Saturday before an announced crowd of 16,313 at University Stadium in Albuquerque. It was the Lobos' smallest home crowd in almost 19 years.
Joshua Butts, 19, borrowed a vehicle from Locksley's son, who's a walk-on player for the Lobos... Butts is facing charges of aggravated DWI, being a minor in possession of alcohol, reckless driving and driving without a license, police said.

You should get to immediately jump into the top 10 for a week, if you get a opposing coach fired the day after the game. Of course this might have more to do with the fact Locksley sucked at life, but my point is still valid. xsmiley_wix

Darn, we go and beat Minnesota and get up-staged. At least we spawned/contributed to this:

Personally, I think this is hilarious.

That IS a good read, recommend it. Loved the following in the preamble to the NDSU loss:
The Gophers are bigger, stronger and faster while NDSU’s roster is assembled largely out of the leftovers that the Gophers weren’t interested in.

Like Minnesota is bringing in five star recruits every year.
Last yearr before the Jax State=Ole Miss game, I read a quote from an asistant coach that said he thought Jax State was in Florida until he looked them up on Wikipedia the week before the game.

I played football with Mike Locksley, he was 2 classes ahead of me at Towson. He proved to be a very good recruiter and OC at the BCS level. He's a DC guy, I think he should have stayed in the East. New Mexico is pretty far west from his recruiting knowledge. I really thought he was going to Syracuse , but they went a different way and he went west.
I'm sure he'll get picked up on someones staff if for only his recruiting alone.

Any talent that is in NM is taken by Texas, OU, and the Pac 12 schools.
Sam had a great win over an FBS school with probably 70 percent of it being DII talent. I'm not trying to slight what the win means for Sam and the SLC, but let's keep it in perspective. It's like beating WKU, or when SFA beat ULM in 2003.
