JMU should be ahead of UNH. And before someone yells at me for posting rankings, I'm NOT, I'm responding to the thread. But we are 3-1, UNH is 2-1. Both have two quality road wins, us having an additional win should be the tiebreaker.

I think that defeating Richmond and Lehigh is more impressive than CCSU, W&M, and Liberty. The Tribe is a middle of the road or worse CAA team this season. And, while Liberty may end up having a good end to their season, they are 1-3 right now.

I think NDSU should be ranked ahead of MSU based on last years results. We won on the road, and we return the majority of our team. Plus our QB showed saturday that he's gonna be a solid player (the qb position was the big concern going into the season.)
So, why would someone have MSU ahead of NDSU?
It really doesn't matter because it will work itself out in the end. Its a guessing game right now.
I could really care less, it will all work itself out at the end of the season.

If you go by last year, you would say EWU needs to be ranked ahead of NDSU. Hence another reason why you shouldn't consider last year's results.
For this year, it's still easy to argue that NDSU should be ahead of Montana State. NDSU has a convincing road win at an FBS - and BCS - team and two other convincing wins over lesser competition, leaving them with an unblemished record. Montana State has a loss at Utah (which looks a bit better after what Utah did to BYU), and their road win (at EWU) doesn't really look as impressive as NDSU's handing of Minnesota.

Why should NDSU be ranked ahead of Montana State.
NDSU returned nearly the entire team that owned the Bobcats last year.
Montana State wins against Davis (1-3), Minot State(DII), Eastern Washington (0-4). Those teams have 1 win against an FCS - San Diego.
NDSU - wins against Lafayette (1-3), Saint Francis (1-3), Minnesota (1-3). Three times as many DI wins for a whopping total of 3. And a 'marquee win' over Minnesota.
Sagarin MSU - 85; NDSU - 71.
I'm a big Bobcat fan. I'm also ready for Montana State to go through the Big Sky and get a top 4 seed with NDSU having to travel to Bozeman because people in August rated NDSU lower.

The argument for NDSU over Montana State shouldn't be based on last year. However, based on this year so far NDSU has a better resume (although both are pretty weak). I mean beating an FBS team is good, but Minnesota is not very good this year. And I would question the people that have SIU in their top 10 after they nearly lost to a bad Missouri State team at home this week. Here is my go, even though I am not a voter:
1. Georgia Southern
2. NDSU
3. UNI
4. UNH
5. Wofford
6. JMU
7. Appalachian State
8. Montana State
9. Delaware
10. Southern Utah
#10 was tough for me. I really didn't think it should be Southern Utah because of the SDSU loss, but they still seem to have a better resume than the teams I was comparing them with. They got the nod over Sam Houston basically because I think UNLV is better than New Mexico and I think Sac State is better than WIU or Central Arkansas. Either way that was really close for me.

NDSU is my clear #1. Their FBS win over Minnesota was the most meaningful FBS win this year. Minnesota is NOT the strongest FBS team by a long shot, however, they showed they can play with teams like USC, they had just got their confidence back with a win the week before, were riding high and IN NO WAY were going to overlook NDSU because they remembered all too clearly losing to them before. Add that to their other wins and their strong performance last year..... = #1 For now at least :)

Some have SIU in their top 10? I have them ranked (in the 11-25 range) based on their good win at SEMO... but their close win over Missouri State, at home, had me drop them a bit this week. The Salukis may be a really good team - maybe we'll know in two weeks when they host the Bison (assuming they can get past their trip to WIU net weekend).

SUU went for the win in Brookings on a two point conversion. Make it, it's a win, miss, and Jacks win. Jacks made the T-Birds miss, and put their lone W so far this season. I like how the T-Birds demolished both Sac St. and UNLV. SUU is looking like the team to beat in the GWFC.

The PL is having a very good season so i hardly expect them to dominate the league. Holy Cross is a boarderline Top 25 team and Lafayette is always tough because of the rivalry. I think it's still too early to tell what Bucknell and Georgetown bring to the table. Colgate appears to be the worst team which is hard to believe.

My personal opinion is that the JMU suspensions shouldn't affect the rankings. We're ranking the teams based on what they've done so far, and we have a good resume so far. We haven't lost to UR at this time. And if we can somehow pull off a win, the team depth is that much more impressive. Just my opinion.

I will be interested to see what Sagarin and Sagarin predictor say for the FCS when it comes out. Sagarin predictor is really gonna bump up the NDSU Bison for beating Minnesota by more than 3 points.
Kayak Top 10:
1. Richmond
2. UNI
3. Ga. Southern
4. NDSU
5. Montana State
6. Wofford
7. UNH
8. Southern Utah
9. James Madison University
10. Lehigh
...I have Richmond at number one given the win over Duke (which beat BC, which beat UMass by a lot). NDSU has really impressed me. I don't have App State in my top 10 because of the massive thumping to VT & the close win over UT Chattanooga Mocs. App State is my #11, until they can soundly defeat a weaker Socon team or defeat Georgia Southern or Wofford.
...I think Lehigh at #$10 is deserved. Mountain Hawks just win. Period. Lum to Spadola might be the best thing going in D-I FCS football for a fan. Chris Forcier from Furman might be #2 and Rennie for UNI at #3. Quick for App State is #4. He needs better service from Presly.

I am very impressed with the FBS win over an ACC opponent which is under-rated, and I am aware of how much I hate Richmond (snobby preps with inflated perception of relevance in football). Southern Utah is not getting any respect despite owning UNLV which beat Haawwwaiii''iii. I like Indiana State a lot, but it's hard to put them in a top 10 right now. NDSU ... not sure why i can't put them #1 if Sagarin Predictor likes them by 4 points over any FCS team.

Just my opinion but if Duke were on my ballot with the FCS teams, they would not crack my top 10. Plus, the #1 team should not lose at home to anyone.

Should not lose at home to ANYBODY? Im assuming you mean anyone in the FCS. Nobody expects Richmond to beat LSU.
And I certainly think that's a fair position, and I want to be consistent. NDSU should really be my #1 because I'm fond of the Minnesota road win, which was impressive. So on second thought, NDSU should be my #1 followed by UNI, Ga. Southern, and Richmond.
I don't know why but there is always a temptation to put #1 & #2 from separate conferences. I really like the top of the MVFC though. Throw Indiana State in the mix, and it should be a fun ride in the valley.

Sagarin's out.
I'm going with Predictor instad of Elo Chess and combined.
1. NDSU ...... 68.99
2. Montana State ..... 65.76
3. UNI ..... 64.46
4. Ga So ..... 64.08
5. Delaware .... 62.28
6. Maine ....... 61.5
7 down (App State, UNH, Wofford, Montana, S. Utah) no JMU or Richmond or UNH
Never liked Sagarin's picks before, but I gotta say.... I'm pretty close to him on this one. Here's my top 10:
1: North Dakota State Bison
2: Montana State Bobcats
3: Georgia Southern Eagles
4: Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens
5: Northern Iowa Panthers
6: South Carolina State Bulldogs
7: Appalachian State Mountaineers
8: Chattanooga Mocs
9: New Hampshire Wildcats
10: Southern Utah Thunderbirds

Sagarin is really only for gambling purposes. NDSU would be favored over all other FCS teams.
Bojeta, do you really like South Carolina State in your top 10? That seems optimistic. Good defense and kicker, but not sure the offense is all that great. I'm not sure I would see a MEAC team that high.

Nope, I expect UR to beat LSU by at least ten if they come to Richmond! xtroublex

My logic regarding So Car State went like this: Two solid FBS performances and two FCS wins. I've had two chances to watch their first FCS opponent, Bethune Cookman on TV, and while I don't have them currently in my top 25, they could easily be there (defeated Hampton, another team to watch). Then there's the Deleware State game. Probably in the bottom 10 of FCS this year, but still, racking up 69 points tells me there is some offense there. I realize it's a bit sketchy right now. Definitely not going to feel comfortable with my poll for another couple weeks. I've never had my own rankings fluctuate so wildly before. This is an unusual year in my opinion.

Just a view from the other side - I literally had SC State as #26. Their FBS losses were both two+ score affairs (21-6 vs. central Michigan and 38-21 vs. Indiana). These are not good FBS teams, so they wind up being almost non-factors for me. Their wins? B-C looked pretty good opening the season, but I'm not sold on Hampton, and winning by four at home isn't super impressive. And Delaware State? I had thought the flying insects would compete until they gave up three jillion points to Delaware and SC State. Don't get me wrong - the Bulldogs are solidly in my 20-30 range, and should move up as they move through conference play.

Unlike many other Bobcat fans. I have no problem putting NDSU a spot ahead of the Cats at this point. Wins over Minot, UC Davis and a struggling Eastern Washington are OK, but the Cats don't have that signature win yet.
I do think they will be top 5 and a seed in the end, and that's the only thing that matters.
