After taking a 17-point lead to start the game, Boston College handed the No. 17 UMass football team its first loss of the season, 45-17, on Saturday at Alumni Stadium. Jesse Julmiste set a new UMass record with 252 kick-off return yards, while Jonathan Hernandez rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
