Having been at the game, here are my thoughts:
1. NDSU was better...period!
2. Gray is a poor passer, the Fr QB is much better and will probably start the rest of the season.
3. Great to see so many Bison fans down there. LOL....when we were chanting "Let's Go Bison"......gooopher fans would look over at us.....we were just as loud.
4. Brock played awesome.
5. We dont play a game last week and move down in the coache's poll....xchinscratchxxchinscratchx It will be interesting to see where we go this week.
6. NDSU was better.....period!

Gray might move to a slotbak or WR if he is no longer the QB. It's tough on a team when the QB is switched every other drive or even play.

This game does matter, example 1, recruiting, front and center Marcus Williams
Strib link (http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophers/130514183.html)
While the rest of Division I-bound peers selected from a herd of schools that offered them scholarships, former Hopkins standout Marcus Williams wondered where he'd play.
He was the point guard -- and a standout cornerback in football -- for a Hopkins basketball team that sent four starters to Division I schools and captured the 4A state title in 2008-09 with remarkable ease. Williams ended up at North Dakota State, a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) school, as a football walk-on with the promise of a chance to earn a scholarship.
He was the only member of the Hopkins starting five that didn't earn a full ride from a major hoops program.
But during a memorable homecoming Saturday night, he was a hero, after scoring two defensive touchdowns in the Bison's 37-24 victory over the Gophers at TCF Bank Stadium.
He recovered a teammate's fumble and streaked up the sidelines 52 yards for a score as time expired in the first half. Later, he stole Max Shortell's must-have pass for another pick-six with 2:36 remaining in the game.
The latter sealed North Dakota State's second consecutive win over the Gophers in four years.
And it made Williams the star he'd been during his time at Hopkins, albeit one who was overlooked by major colleges.
"Playing with four other guys who played Division I ball and me here [with people saying] 'You could do this, you could do that, but your grades aren't good.' In basketball, 'You can't shoot real well.' Playing football, 'You're too small, not fast enough.' It was a big deal. [North Dakota State coach Craig Bohl] came to my house, told me if I do good my first year, he's going to give me a scholarship. I was with it the whole way."
He brought his best for his return trip to Minneapolis.
In the final seconds of the first half, Bison strong safety Colten Heagle intercepted a MarQueis Gray pass. Gophers wideout Marcus Jones went for the tackle, but Heagle tossed the ball toward Williams, who rumbled down the sidelines for a 52-yard touchdown that gave the Bison a 28-14 edge at halftime.
"I'm yelling 'pitch, pitch, pitch,' and he pitched it back," Williams said. "It bounced, it had a great bounce. It pitched right to me and I was just scoring the whole way."
But that effort finished second to Williams' late 40-yard TD interception that ended the Gophers' comeback hopes.
Williams said he watched Shortell's eyes before he jumped the route. It was a moment that Williams said he'd craved since he joined the Bison.
"To be honest, it was pretty emotional, really," he said. "Coming from Minneapolis, being from here, going against the home state, people thinking I wasn't good enough to play here, probably wasn't going to play Division I ball at all. And just coming here and showing up and playing a good game, it just felt real good."
