Uh, no, if NDSU is counting on anything, that extra game comes under the W column, a concept that I can forgive Minnesota fans not being familiar with.

I'd also like to reiterate out how pathetic this is for an FBS team in a BCS conference:

"Playing teams from the western border has been an absolute nightmare since 2006. In 06, the Gophers beat NDSU 10-9 on a blocked FG, in 07, they lost to NDSU, 09 just snuck past SDSU, and last year lost to South Dakota."

That really puts things in perspective. Hope you guys beat them again!

Definitely, definitely re-think the scheduling philosophy. Go to USC (good move), almost win, take in sunrays, check out hot girls, and fly back. Play home against angry, huge, inferiority complex-driven NDSU squad = not so good. Imagine if NDSU beat Minnesota by more than USC. What will Sagarin show???

It royally sucks just to be a Minnesota sports fans. Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves, Wild, Gophers (in multiple sports)... they all suck. The Lynx are literally the only good major sports team in the entire state (and that's generously referring to the WNBA as a major sport). Sadly, I'm a fan of all those teams except the Goophers... if NDSU sucked as bad as the Gophers do I think I'd take up knitting as my new hobby.

Nope - a half million Goopher fans are there in their hidey holes. I was fairly shocked to find out how many there were when I moved up from Lincoln in 79 - they just lie low. Don't think too many will come out of hiding for a Dakota game.
