A little down on JSU, huh? E. Illinois seems to be a bit one-dimensional - not running the ball very well. That, plus a loooong road trip may equal better success than you think for JSU (IMO).

TTU played Lane last year. Actually, they beat Maryville College this year - is a D3 school...TTU held EIU to a (minus) 6 yards rushing last week...only 12 attempts but, still...

This is a must win for EKU. If we can't beat Peay we are in trouble. Would be a overall sign of where we have been (OVC win record vs Peay: EKU 39 Peay 4) and where we are now IF we don't win this game.

Eastern Kentucky at Austin Peay, 6:00 p.m. - EKU I have to say that I am totally stunned
Southeast Missouri at Tennessee Tech, 7:00 p.m. TECH TTU gives up a ton of rush yards but, QB & RB have career nights. TONS of injuries, however...

Next week will again be interesting: JSU, TTU and APSU are the only unbeatens in conf. play

EIU is better or what's wrong with JSU ? - but, still a win

EIU is probably about as good as you were thinking. It would have been nice to see JSU get more points out of all those offensive yards, and losing two fumbles and getting penalized 11 times for 105 yards didn't help. Still, the team looked mostly OK and did everything they needed to win. The defense was rock-solid at the end and the offense controlled the ball for most of the second half. If the Gamecocks can get their heads on straight and avoid those penalties, they'll be in much better shape down the stretch.

These two teams apparently really don't like each other, by the way. There was a lot of jawing and shoving on the field. Six personal fouls called in the game, five against Jax State. The Gamecocks deserved all of those, and probably got lucky on at least one non-call; I think EIU got away with a few, as well.
