A little national 'nod' from FoxSports...
New Mexico's Mike Locksley (2-25) is in a funk — his Lobos have lost to three teams by a combined score of 125-26. A quick look at the Lobos' nonconference schedule pretty much sums up how bad a team they really are; Arkansas, Texas Tech, Sam Houston State and Nevada all want a piece of Lobo pie. Move along, folks. Nothing to see here.

Sam Houston State Could Be Handful for Lobos
Collectively, these Bearkats are a different animal.
In sharp contrast, pending further information this afternoon, these appear to be the same old Lobos.
The New Mexico Lobos (0-3) and the Sam Houston State Bearkats (2-0), who meet today at University Stadium, are teams from opposite ends of the NCAA football spectrum.

It's just my opinion, I could be wrong (though I doubt it)
Regardless of what Mike Locksley says, Saturday's game against Sam Houston State is a MUST win situation. If he wants any chance of saving his job, he has to beat the Bearkats. Another loss by UNM would send Lobo fans into a frenzy and UNM Vice President for Athletics Paul Krebs would not be able to withstand 7 days of "will Mike Locksley be fired" talk. A win against Sam Houston State followed by a win over NMSU would give Locksley some breathing room from the firing line. Neither win is a gimmie based on how UNM has played this year. Also, the Aggies have beaten the Lobos the last two years.

Bring on the Lobos
HUNTSVILLE — So far this season, home has been especially sweet for the Bearkats.
In its first two games, Sam Houston has rolled to statement wins over Western Illinois and most recently, Central Arkansas.
Now, the Bearkats get their first test in enemy territory as they make the long trip — 817 miles — to Albuqerque, N.M. where they’ll face New Mexico, which competes in the FBS.

Wow... wish I could've watched it. Was out to eat with some family at a very nice restaurant! :)
Congrats to the Bearkats on their big 'W'...
Albuquerque, NM - Sophomore running back Tim Flanders set a school record with five rushing touchdowns including a four-yard score for the game-winner in overtime as Sam Houston defeated New Mexico 48-45 Saturday night at University Stadium.
The win was only the Bearkats' third in 25-games against NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams since Sam Houston moved up to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) in 1986. The Kats also defeated Louisiana-Monroe in 2000 and Louisiana-Lafayette in 2001.

I think we all wish we could have watched. It was the first DI game, I've had to a listen to a game where absolutely no streaming was available, anywhere

This game will be interesting as it relates to impact on polls...
Outside of a rally in fourth quarter, SHSU actually dominated and controlled this game... score is not indicative of how much of a whoopin' SHSU put on the Lobos!

This is true. I was there and couldn't beleive we let them get back in the game in the fourth qtr. The D came through in OT to hold them to a field goal.
