Again. Mistakes kept us out of the game in the 4th at Vandy and FIVE TOs kept NCCU in this game.

Yeah all that is great, BUT Elon looked terrible tonight. The defense gave Central hope, offense was entirely too dependent of Mellette, and the Special Teams were maybe the worst I've seen them in years. Elon has three great running backs and the absence of Shuman in the offense is mindboggling. The turnovers were also ridiculous. A W is a W, but going into SOCON play......Elon could be in LOADS of trouble.

All I can say is phew. A win is a win, but we were lucky there. We cannot have that many turnovers on O and expect to win regularly. Good news is we got time to fix it before next week (knock on wood). Gotta give it up to the defense for stepping up and shutting them down time and time and time again. I'll take the win, but my god that was ugly.

Elon still won the game. Either one of two thongs is true: NCCU is improved under their new coaching staff; or Elon is not a good team. Either way, you got the win. NCCU made just as many mistakes as Elon, including botched extra points, botched field goal attempts, drive sustaining penalties, dropped passes, and what would have been a game ending interception; had our guy not dropped the ball.

Piling up stats isn't always the best indicator. More credit should be given to our opportunistic defense. After all, it's not like you plan to get five takeaways in a game.

Not really sure. We usually do home-and-home contracts, so probably.

I didn't see NCCU last year so I don't know what to compare it to, but I didn't expect the speed I saw on their D. It was a nasty night, which both teams had to contend with, so, no excuse there. On the home side there were 4 banks of lights 3 of which seemed to be angled away from the scoreboard endzone toward the other endzone, and two banks of lights on the visitors side, which were not angled. The field seemed dark, which may have appeared that way due to the weather. Again no excuse there because both teams had to contend with it, Just seemed strange.

I would like to give Wilson an excuse like the line wasn't blocking well or his ankle was really bothering him, but that didn't seem to be the case, (especially after chasing down & tackling a cornerback after a pick). I just hope he gets it corrected with our going into SoCon play next weekend.

Last year we were 3-8. Got rid of coach in midseason. Hired a new coach in December, so we both have first year coaches. We just finished of 5 years of transition to fcs. Dont sell yourselfs short or NCCU either. Both teams played with heart and layed it all on the line. With the turnovers, you are going to have them when you throw the ball as much as your do particularly under the conditions of last night. Also, keep in mind the the defense puts itself in position to create those turnovers. I was at the game and in reference to numbers the only ones that are important are the ones on the scoreboard when the clock reads 0:00.

Your fans may think played horrible and our fans think we did also. But one game is not an indicator of how good or bad your season or your oponents are. We are hoping you guys finish in the top or your conference and are looking forward to a return trip to Elon.
