Weathering the CAA in 2011

After emerging relatively unscathed from an earthquake, a hurricane, a tropical storm and my difficult three month old girl, it seems like a good time for me to take a look around and assess the state of the CAA two weeks into the 2011 season.

In recent years, the start of the season has played out rather predictably — i.e. start off with a few teams either beating or scaring the daylights out of some FBS schools, follow it up by beating up on some lesser non-conference teams and then navigate the CAA schedule.

The usual result has been multiple playoff berths and a spot in the FCS championship game.

Without a defense UNH is not a Top 10 team.......unless of course the rest of the FCS plays down too. I think this will be a very wide open year where any team can win it.

Is there a bit of parity starting to creep in? Maybe some previous weaker opponents are getting better recruits or better coaching staffs. Have to see how today and the season plays out. Most interesting game for today is JMU vs Liberty. Could see the Flames pull a bit of an upset.

His Towson ranking is a bit agressive but who is to say he's wrong through 2 games? Otherwise, he should be voting in the AGS poll!

I dont respect anyone who wont rank UMass when they are eligible to be ranked.
