South Dakota State's rise to NCAA Division I status has produced another landmark date for fans to follow.

Nov. 14, 2009.

Perhaps a little jealousy, while he is ridding the bus with his team to cover USD vs Upper Iowa, Chris will be with the Rabbits as they take on Big 10 Minnesota. :bawling: :nod:

Jacks To Face Gophers In 2009

BROOKINGS, SD - South Dakota State University will play the University of Minnesota in football in 2009.

SDSU and Minnesota have agreed to a contract for a game in the Twin Cities on November 14.

SDSU now has seven dates filled for the 2009 season. In addition to Great West Conference games against Southern Utah (home Oct. 10), UC Davis (away Oct. 17), Cal Poly (home Oct. 24), and North Dakota State (home Nov. 7), the Jacks also have non-conference games with Georgia Southern (home, Sept. 12) and Northern Iowa (away Sept. 19). . . . This move by NDSU, Montana St. and SDSU with U of M to secure longterm games is a great venture for both sides. The benifits from the I-AA teams are the cash payments and secure dates for future seasons.

The Gophers benifit from playing local teams and also a lower payment (about 275K) locked in through 2009, where other teams like Iowa and Neb are paying well over that already.
