HAMILTON, Ont. — Former Appalachian State University standout and 2004 Walter Payton Award finalist DaVon Fowlkes will put his talents on display north of the border after signing with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, Fowlkes said on Wednesday. In Hamilton, he will join another former Mountaineer, offensive lineman Wayne Smith, who starred at Appalachian from 1998-2001 and was the No. 1 overall pick by the Tiger-Cats in the 2004 CFL Draft.

Richie Williams has a standing offer to join the Tiger-Cats as well. Should Williams not make an NFL roster, he will be picked up by Hamilton. Imagine Williams throwing passes to Fowlkes again. I think both of them would be great in Canada, with the wider field.
