Illinois - I was surprised by SDSU beating SUU last week, and I give them a 30% chance of beating the Illini. Doable, but most likely won't win
IN St - we can all agree IN St can finally win games and Butler is a true non-scholarship team - no chance for Butler
WIU - again we have a team from the same true non-scholarship league playing a full scholarship, fully competitive MVFC team - no chance for JU
YSU - see above - no chance for Valpo
Ole Miss - I was also surprised by SIU, but then again SEMO may have lost alot, but this is a competitive SEC team so I give SIU only a 10% chance to win
MO St - hopefully I'm not let down here, but I will go with the MVFC team over the OVC team
NDSU - I don't think the low scholarship team will have much chance in Fargo
UNI - stupid scheduling - UNI deserves to lose for it and I hope they boil either way -- DON'T let Southland teams have home games early in the year!!
ILL St - see the other Pioneer vs MVFC comments
East Wash - I'm sure USD will put up a decent fight, but have to go with defending champs here
I'm 8-2 after last week, missing SIU/SEMO and SDSU/SUU
PS -- Moorhead St is a DII in Moorhead, MN (next to Fargo), Morehead St is a DI in Kentucky (non scholarship football in Pioneer)

Butler @ ISUb
Jacksonville @ WIU - I hope I'm wrong here; would love to see the Leathernecks bounce back
Valpo @ YSU
SIU @ Ole Miss
MSU @ EKU - The Bears looked pretty bad at Arkansas, and EKU played really well last weekend, and will probably avenge last year's loss at Brigg's

South Dakota State @ Illinois - I would love to see SDSU pull the upset but I don't think they've got the team to do it this year.
Butler @ Indiana State - What a difference a week makes for ISU Blue. Opposite ends of the spectrum for opponents from week to week.
Jacksonville @ Western Illinois - Was very disappointed with WIU last week. Hopefully they pull it together this week.
Valporasio @ Youngstown State - Another rebound game for a team that took on a very tough FBS squad last weekend.
Southern Illinois @ Ole Miss - SIU showed last week that they're a very good team but they're not good enough to beat an SEC squad.
Missouri State @ Eastern Kentucky - Things get easier for the Bears this week but not that easy.
St Francis (PA) @ North Dakota St - Was expected the score to this game to be more in the range of last week's score for the Bison. This one might even be uglier than that.
Northern Iowa @ Stephen F Austin - The Panthers exorcise the demons of last year against SFA and last week against ISU with a win here.
Morehead State @ Illinois State - ISU Red is another team I was hoping would pick up an OOC victory for the MVFC last week and didn't. Hopefully a bounce back game for them.
Eastern Washington @ South Dakota - Nice OOC game for the Coyotes but EWU is too good to let this one slip away like last week.

I agree. SFA was pretty sloppy this week.
WIU needs to put up or risk being the modern day Indiana St who is dusting themselves off from doormat status.
Who is going to be the new doormat? I'd like to see NDSU consistently sucking but not sure that will happen.

SDSU @ Illinois - SDSU keeps it closer than Arkansas St. did last week
Butler @ ISUb - The Trees lay the smack down
Jacksonville @ WIU - Bounce back after a really ugly loss
Valpo @ YSU - Beatdown
SIU @ Ole Miss - Tough game for the Salukis. I hope they keep it close.
MSU @ EKU - EKU turned some heads last week, bad news for MSU
SFU @ NDSU - no surprise here...
UNI @ SFA - this should be a great game. I think UNI wins by 4
Moorhead st @ ISUr - The Redbirds bounce back and get a big W this week
Overall, it should be a great week for the MVFC!

WIU lost by 14 on the road to a SHSU team that returned almost all their starters and are arguably the best team in the Southland (SFA, McNeese). The Kats were highly motivated as WIU routed them last year and WIU had beat them in the last three meetings as well, the Kats were quite determined not to make it 4 in a row.
InSU got there brains beat in (understandably) by the Nitney Lions.
Last year InSU had 4 D-I wins, WIU had 8 and went to the playoffs. I'm all for rootin for ISU but people here seem awfully excited about 4 wins.
I forget a lot these day as my mind (and body) are aging but if I recall correctly the outcome of the WIU-UNI game was never in question last year as it appeared to me the Leathernecks were in the drivers seat the whole game.

SDSU @ Illinois - I'll be pulling for the bunnies, but I have a feeling this one could get ugly, princess Illiniwek is the real deal this year and IMO, a sleeper for the Leaders division in the BT.
MSU @ EKU - The only thing I know about EKU this year is that they almost beat Kansas State last week. That's good enough for me to pick them at home against MSU.
SIU @ Ole Miss - Statement win for the Salukies and for the MVFC. Wasn't impressed with what I saw out of Ole Miss last weekend. If SIU keeps their composure, they have a definite shot in this one.
UNI @ SFA - SFA is no Iowa State. As long as UNI comes in ready to play, they get an impressive road win for the Valley.
I'll take any MVFC team playing at home against an NEC or Pioneer team this weekend. Don't choke on your cupcakes (esp ISUR)!

Is that really necessary??? I would prefer we let our team do the talking on the field not to mention I would rather we take on opponents who are equally staffed scholarship wise. Beating any team if they have less schollies is not the same as taking on a team equally funded or stocked with scholarships. Sorry but last weeks game or this weeks while they may be good for a "W" or practice for our guys leaves much to be desired from my point of view anyway.

Must suck to not be able to beat that "poor" school! Not to mention I don't see us being a doormat anytime soon considering since 1985 when we joined the Gateway we have only had two losing seasons and both those were 5-6. ISU blue will be the doormat for the forseeable future.

With TO'B at QB, the best they can hope for is something similar to the 2009 performance against Minnesota.
