McNeese State quarterback Cody Stroud and safety Terence Cahee have been named Southland Conference players of the week.
The two were honored for their performances in last week's game with Kansas.
Stroud, a sopohomore from Montgomery, LA, was named the offensive player of the week while Cahee, a sophomore from Westlake, shared the defensive player honor with Derek Rose of Northwestern State.
Stroud had a career type of night completing 22 of 27 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown and he also ran for one touchdown against Kansas. His 81.4 pass completion percentage was one of the highest marks in Cowboy history and twice during the game he connected on eight straight tosses.
Cahee came off the bench to record eight tackles including a sack of Kansas quartereback Jordan Webb for a 12 yard loss on a fourth and one situation deep in Cowboy territory.
