The Southland Conference heads into the second week of the season after going 6-2 in season openers. The home team won in all eight games, with the two blemishes coming against teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly I-A). In week two, half of the league's six games are against teams in FBS conferences. Central Arkansas visits Louisiana Tech at 6 p.m., Nicholls State is at Western Michigan at 6 p.m. and Northwestern State meets LSU in Baton Rouge at 7 p.m. for the first meeting between the schools since 1942.
