Interesting ad on TV that refers to and shows various clips of Jack Nicklaus' best of each of his 18 holes at Augusta and if combined into one round of golf would have resulted in a score of 48 for the Masters! So I guess there is a long way to go, yet, in the pursuit of perfection.

A lot of women's groups at clubs do a "ringer" tournament over the course of the year that does this. Each player takes their best score for each hole over the course of the summer. Of course, I doubt there were any 48's shot. :smiley_wi

This is from the Jim Rome Show yesterday...
"It's nice to have two ones on your scorecard," golf analyst David Feherty commenting on once making an 11 at a golf tournament.
That may just be a perfect round! ;)

Just in case you didn't do the math, that 48 is 24 under par. That means Jack eagled SIX holes (or some combination of eagle and double eagle) along with 12 birdies. With only four par fives (assumed to be the eagle holes), Jack has a couple of REALLY impressive holes! Probably either a hole-in-one on a par three or a holed out fairway wood on a par five.
If you played golf, even if very well, this is impressive stuff!!

Was that a 9 hole event? the lowest possible school for an 18 hole event would be 18 and that of course would be with 18 holes-in-one.

No. It was an '11' on one hole...
And being that getting a '1' in golf is uncommon, David Feherty was joking about having two 1s on his scorecard...
Guess you've never heard David Feherty give an interview. He's the funniest guy in golf...
