FBS Games:
SC State - 6
C. Mich (FBS) - 21
Hard fought game, with the Bulldogs showing a TON of heart and effort, only 14-6 at the half and they had their chances throughout the game thanks to their defense. Say what you want about the MAC and CMU but the Dawgs defense is championship caliber. Questions remain on offense however, mainly at QB.
Howard - 9
E. Mich (FBS) - 41
Postposed til 12pm Sunday due to weather. Howard jumps on them early with a pick six. Then tacks on a FG to take an early 9-3 lead. Then it was all Eastern Michigan the rest of the way.
NC Central - 0
Rutgers (FBS) - 48
Wasn't even THAT close. Welcome to Division I Eagles. Best of luck Coach Frazier. xthumbsupx
FCS Games:
Morgan St - 3
Towson (CAA) - 42
xsmhx
Hill-Eley NEEDS to go. Completely unprepared, completely outclassed. No offense Bears, but you guys need to go 0-8 in conference. That's the only way to get him out of there.
Alabama A&M (SWAC) - 20
Hampton - 21
Chicago Football Classic. Defense optional apparantly. Hampton throws for less than 100 yards, allows over 400 yards of total offense. But comes away with the W.
Prairie View A&M - 14
Bethune-Cookman - 63
MEAC/SWAC Challenge. BCU dominates from the coin toss. Runs away with the game. This was over halfway through the 2nd quarter. The Wildcats are looking to make the statement that last season was no fluke.
Delaware State - 24
VMI (Big South) - 21
After a bad start and a halftime weather delay, DSU picks up an OOC road win for the MEAC over the Big South. QB Elko throws for 232 yds and 3 TDs. Still a work in progress under first year coach Kermit Blount.
Non-FCS games:
Ft. Valley St (D2 SIAC) - 22
Florida A&M - 28
FAMU avoids the upset and scores on a 68 yard TD catch with less than 40 secs to play. Ft. Valley is good but still questions for the Rattlers.
Savannah St - 34
Albany St (D2 SIAC) - 37
Welcome to the MEAC, SSU! Tigers battle back from a 19-3 halftime defect to lead 37-30 with 45 seconds to go, yet give up the winning score to the Rams of Albany State. With a tumultuous offseason (what else is new), props for showing heart and not throwing in the towel when down.
Virginia St (D2 CIAA) - 3
Norfolk St - 37
This game is turning into their version of the UD/West Chester contest. Although this is one of their highest attended games of the season for the Spartans. Should look into convincing Virginia State to move up to FCS and the MEAC.
VU of Lynchburg (unaffliated xconfusedx) - 7
NC A&T - 38
When you are A&T you take the wins where you can get it. IIRC, Lynchburg was formally a D2 that dropped football some years ago but is in the process of bringing it back at the D2 level. They applied for D2 membership with the NCAA and meet the qualifications to be a D2 school...but they aren't D2 yet...
vs FBS 0-3
vs FCS OOCs 3-1
vs non-FCS 3-1
