Southland: Sam Houston State One of Five Southland Teams to Open with Win

Sam Houston State beat Western Illinois, 20-6, to open its 2011 season on a positive note. Four other teams also won Thursday, including Northwestern State, Nicholls State, Central Arkansas and Stephen F. Austin. Three other league teams will play their first game on Saturday.
