GreatAppSt, you might not remember this, but the last player at Appalachian State to wear No. 1 was receiver Daryl Skinner. He drove coach Jerry Moore nuts and Moore told the equipment staff not to issue No. 1 again. I'll always remember Skinner for his great, off-the-cuff, post-game quotes and his Mr. T starter (jewelry) set.
