I shared this with my pals over at the CAAzone. Since there have been multiple threads discussing coach openings, I thought I'd consolidate some of the more general discussion into a single topic here. Below you'll find (2) break-downs of both filled and open coaching positions:

NDSU coach Tim Miles is interviewing with UNC-Wilmington.
From the Fargo Forum........
University of Kansas assistant men’s basketball coach Joe Dooley is the first candidate to try and make an impression at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. It appears North Dakota State head coach Tim Miles will interview for the head coaching opening later this week.
Dooley arrived Tuesday night and will interview today, according to the Wilmington Star-News newspaper. University of Texas assistant coach Rodney Terry is scheduled to fly in today and interview on Thursday.
Terry is a former Wilmington assistant coach who is being mentioned in Wilmington media reports as a potential leader in the search.

UT-Arlington still has not named their coach...
I have not seen anything on Shanon Hays on UTAMavericks.com, UTAMavs.collegesports.com or on the UTA Shorthorn web site.
Got a source?
Nothing on UH web site or their fan site just yet. He was named a finalist and UT-Arlington wanted to name their coach by Friday, but your obviously ahead of the game if he's indeed the man.
Your link leads to UT-Arlington's page on the DallasNews, but it doesn't lead to a specific story...

Saw on the UH site that you said a press conference would occur on Monday. Dallas Morning News is reporting it's Friday PM. We'll know then...
UTA to name basketball coach Friday
6:27 PM CDT on Thursday, April 20, 2006
By CALVIN WATKINS / The Dallas Morning News
UT-Arlington will hold a 1 p.m. news conference on Friday to announce its new men's basketball coach. UTA athletic director Pete Carlon made a recommendation to school president Jim Spaniolo today. Carlon is trying to replace Eddie McCarter who was fired last month. Carlon interviewed six finalists in the last two weeks on the UTA campus.

Well, this is what happens when you post speculation as "news"...your absolutely wrong and your credibility is crushed all over the 'Net from all the various boards you posted that incorrect information on...
UT-Arlington has selected former Mavericks player and current assistant coach Scott Cross as its new men's head basketball coach, sources told the Star-Telegram on Thursday.
The hiring will be announced at a news conference at 1 p.m. today.
Cross was one of UTA's best players from 1995-98 and has been a Mavericks assistant for the past seven seasons.
Neither Cross nor UTA athletic director Pete Carlon returned messages left on their cellphones Thursday.

Having a bad day? Did soemone from a website run over your puppy? Crushed? Oh Yes, I don't know why I should go on in life.
The source was incorrect. I hate to break it to you, but it happens all the time. In fact, there were at least two other supposed leaders in college basketball news that reported a Hays choice that had the same source as I. We were then all incorrect. But at least I took the time to point this out on the Houston messageboard and fans of Coach Hays, that had relayed the news from CollegeSportsInfo.
And had you taken any time out of crusade of media responsibilty, you would have noticed that the correction was made BEFORE it was made public that Cross had been chosen and accepted to stay on board.

HAHA...didn't see your second post! That's what happens when you respond without finishing the thread. Disregard my above post. Hays was not listed by name on any website or any post. Hays was listed on CSI but taken down the second we got the email saying that Hays in fact was not the choice.
