I get third pick in my office pool for the Masters. The first guy will take Phil, second probably Tiger. Who should I pick out of Els, Goosen, Singh or someone else?

Jim Furyk or David Toms but if Lefty is still available put your money on him.

If Tiger was already taken I'd save my money.

Maybe look down the rankings for someone newly married. The wife will be into motivating the new husband to winning so she can go shopping!

Yeah if Lefty and his gigantor mantits are availible, pick him. If not go with Goosen.

Singh has FOUR top 10 finishes in a row at Augusta. I'd probaly have to take him if Woods and Mickelson are off the board.

2000: 1st
2001: 18th
2002: 7th
2003: 6th (tied)
2004: 6th (tied)
2005: 5th (tied)

Singh usually plays pretty well there, but his ballstriking is not sharp right now, so I'd stay away from him. Goosen looks like he's playing some consistent golf right now and I think he'd be the better pick.

Dark horse choice would be Olazabal. He's playing as well as he has in years, has picked up some length and has won the Masters twice in the past ('94 and '99). I bet he does well this week.

If i were to take a chance on somebody, maybe not with the 3rd pick, i'd go with Sergio or Aaron Oberholser. Sergio's been playing well lately and one has to think he'll break through eventually. He's had some success at the Masters as well. Oberlholser won at Pebble this year and ranks 7th in scoring. Mickelson is a good pick but only twice since 1960 has someone won the Masters after winning the week before.

Singh has 6 top 10 finishes in 8 events so far this year and the other two were 15th and 20th.

I compiled a top 100 using this years play combined with World Rankings, and came up with the following Top 10 for my Masters Draft:

Phil Mickelson 12
Tiger Woods 12
Vijay Singh 15
David Toms 16
Rory Sabbatini 20
Luke Donald 31
Retief Goosen 32
Chad Campbell 41
Scott Verplank 44
Jim Furyk 45

Be that as it may, prior to the Players, he has not really been in contention on Sunday since January. And that performance at the Players was not a confidence booster for Augusta. I could be wrong, but I just don't see him as sharp enough to be incontention late on Sunday this year.

For a darkhorse pick (if your pool has you pick multiple players) I would be tempted to go with Olazabal. He has won the Masters twice and is currently playing solid golf.

Well I am leaning towards Goosen because I think Singh will be available with my second pick.

Good grief, can I get in on your pool?! If Singh falls to the second round, I want in! :)

I was thinking the same thing. What are there, three guys in this pool?

My darkhorse is looking good. Aaron Oberholser is tied for the 3rd at under through 13 today.

I also picked Chad Campbell, Oberholser, Ames, Pampling, and Sabatinni to go with Garcia, Goosen & Singh. All made the cut. :)

I'm in a pool where you had to pick 13 players out of different groupings. The smallest grouping was the Woods/Mickelson grouping. I think the largest was about 10 players. My field....

Singh -3
Mickelson -2
Goosen -2
Olberhoser E
Pampling +1
Cink +1
Leonard +1
Scott +2
Cabrera +3

Missed Cut...
Lehman +7
Floyd +8 (group of old guys)
Choi +8
Marsh +16 (one of the groups was the five amateurs)
