Houston now has the MLS and the team looks like they got themselves a pretty solid crowd at the University of Houston's stadium. Heck, they got more people there than they would for a UH game! That may not be saying too much...
I was a bit worried heading into this game hearing that tickets were not moving anywhere close to where they wanted them to be. They already got a hat trick from US MNT member Brian Ching and we're not even done with the first-half. If these guys make themselves as exciting as they are playing today and keep getting Ws, I'm sure they'll develop their own niche.
Houston needed a soccer team. We have the market for it, both Hispanic-wise and the emerging popularity of youth soccer. We'll see how this all works out, but this will definitely be something interesting to keep an eye on, especially after they changed names from Houston 1836 to Houston Dynamo. We'll see if the Hispanic populous catches on...
