Lehigh's softball team swept Lafayette today to run their regular season winning streak to 36 games. It was also the 25th straight win over Lafayette!!!! Scores were 6-3 and 8-4.
Over in the Valley, Lehigh's Men's Lacrosse knocked off #19 Bucknell, 7-5. It was the second win this year over a top 20 team (earlier beat then #15 Army). Although they lost to Navy last week, Navy was upset, earlier by Colgate, so LU is currently tied for first in the PL with the Midshipmen.
Finally, the baseball team swept the Bucknell Bison at Bucknell, 6-3 and 10-5 to begin league play.

And Colgate, and Army. There is a 4 way tie at the top right now, each team with 1 loss. Big weekend in Hamiton as Lehigh comes to visit.
Funny how Bucknell now has 2 league losses and is on the outside looking in without some upsets...

i fail to see the humor in this.:bawling:
the squad has a lot of good young players, but even so, the bison aren't used to losing this many games. still have games with Colgate and Army so can win their way back into the tournament.
this is probably agood sign for the PL as a whole, but it isn't making my day. i wonder if this is how the HC basketball fans feel?
now, please give us scholarships

How's the weather outlook--need to neutralize that ol' weatherman advantage the 'gate seems to employ at times..;)

Lehigh split Sunday's game with Bucknell to start out the PL at 3-1. Both games were by 7-5 scores. Mountain Hawks catcher McBride went 5-8. Listed as one of the top 10 catchers in NCAA.

And with Colgate's 11-10 OT win against Lehigh, it's now a 3 way tie at the top. ;)
Amazing to think, but Colgate should beat Lafayette at home and then has a chance to beat Bucknell for at least a share of the regular season PL title. If Navy beats Army, we would win the tiebreaker.
Colgate lax is on the move my friends... :)

Saw the stats late last night--Raiders jumped out to a 7-2 lead and LU scored 4 fourth period goals to tie--last one coming with 32 seconds in regulation to tie at 10. "gate certainly now for real--earlier no one knew what to make of their upset of Navy--maybe not an upset anymore. The PL has really become balanced and exciting. Too many potential outcomes yet--I assume the top four make the League playoffs: Colgate, Navy, Army, Lehigh and Bucknell are certainly bunched. Lehigh should win their last two league matches with Holy Cross and Lafayette, so they could finish 4-2, which leaves the remainder to knock each other out. Should be exciting...
