George Mason and UCLA...

Then GMU winning it all! Go Patriots!

Maybe people will learn to call them 'George Mason'. Heard way too many 'George Madison' things on TV, radio, etc even when a caller called into the GMU President on C-SPAN.

Gotta go with GM---are they a university or college? GMC--keep on truckin or GMU and you, too!

I'm just playing the odds. If they win the National Title it would most likely be the biggest longshot to ever win a major championship. 1980 USA hockey over Russia and John Daly's '91 PGA championship are the only other two that i can think of, and Daly followed that win with the '95 British Open title.

I understand that you're playing the odds, I'm with ya there. I'm just saying I hope for the longshot, the underdog. Gotta love an underdog (unless you're top dog). :) :)

It is GMU. JMU fans call them GMCC (George Mason Community College) to poke some fun at the Patriots as they are the Dukes' main basketball "rival" (which is not as strong due to our program's recent struggles). Most of JMU is pulling for GMU tonight and will not be making fun of the Patriots for quite some time after their impressive Final Four run.

I assume everybody's watching the game, but it's 25-23 Florida right now with 3:48 left in the first.

Florida 31 GMU 26 at half. Florida has 6 or 7 3's while GMU has 0. GMU is getting pounded on the offensive boards but their ability to get to the rim on offense has given them several easy baskets which has kepted them in the game. The Patriots need to continue to get Lewis and Thomas the ball on the offensive end to make Noah and Horford play defense and possibly tire them out a little. If GMU can hit a couple 3's and play a little better perimeter defense they have a chance. I still think Florida has too much balance.

Looks like it's pretty much out of hand now. 15 point lead by Florida, pulling away. :( :(

78-53 Florida, final. :( :( :(

I'll hope whoever wins the next game crushes Florida.

I think it's Florida's year. They have the most balance of any team left. They can shoot, defend, and pound the ball inside and they shoot very well from the foul line, over 80%. They also can finish a game which several teams have struggled to do this year, hence why they're home. They stepped on 'Nova's throat in the second half and did the same tonight against GMU. UCLA and LSU don't shoot the ball very well and are prone to scoring droughts which could haunt them against the Gators. Donnovan didn't get it done when he made it to Indy in 2000, he will this year.

UCLA 31 LSU 15 with about 5 minutes left in the 1st. LSU looks terrible and UCLA is taken advantage of the many gifts the Tigers are giving them.

UCLA 39 LSU 24 at half. LSU's performance in the first half is one of the most dreadful and unprepared i've seen in the Final Four in a long. It's not like they're going up against '96 Kentucky or anything. As long as UCLA shows up in the second half and limits their turnovers they should walk into Monday nights championship game. I'm extremely dissapointed with the Tigers.

With UCLA making the championship game, how bad do you think they're beating themselves up at Gonzaga? No guarantee they would have won the subsequent games that the Bruins have won, but you know they're thinking it could be them playing Monday night.
