WIU is finally putting together some strong schedules for the future. The three I-A games in the next three years will be:
Illinois
Arkansas
Northern Illinois
OOC games include South Dakota State, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin and Hampton. Nice job by AD Tim Van Alstine of putting together 2.5 very competitive schedules thus far. I'm looking forward to possible trips to Brookings and Nacogdoches.
Here is the link to take a look at the schedules:

Sounds great! You guys have a classy program and I predict you will step up and be in a position to win each of these games. Best of luck.

Glad to see the Bearkats and Western Illinois recontinuining their rivalry...
Hopefully, I'll be able to catch some good ole I-AA football! Wonder if this is a home-and-home with a return game in 2010. Or is this a makeup game? I know WIU had us there in 2000 and 2002 and we came in 2001. Maybe so...
Overall, Kats played at WIU in 1986, 1991, 2000 and 2002 at their place and 1987, 1992 and 2001 at Bowers...Kats are 4-2-1 against the Leathernecks...

I predict WIU will have a good rebuilding season this year. I think we are on the way to the WIU teams of the past, which is always a good thing.
I remember when WIU was the biggest game of the year in Cedar Falls.

Should be good match ups between the Gateway & GWFC teams. For the Dakota schools, these Gateway teams are the mid-west DII competitors, and good to be playing again.

I too hope that the rebuilding at WIU is over for at least this season. It has been a tough couple of seasons.

Looking forward to the two game series. I might have to make the trek across Missouri in '07!

SIU is usually a big game. Now, that Terry Allen is at Missouri State, that game is going to develop into a big rivalry.

I thought UNI/MSU was always a huge rivalry?
