Congratulations, Bears. One question, in what conference does UNC play baseball? Also, will they continue to play in that conference once they move to the Big Sky?

I think we're still trying to get into the WAC for baseball and wrestling. UNC has a great baseball history. We went to the college world series in the 1970s and lost to eventual champ Miami. We've produced several pros also. This is a big win for us against Nebraska who is coached by Mike Anderson, a UNC alumn.
In the same sense, Greeley has a great baseball history. Greeley Central High School produced Yankee starting pitcher Shawn Chacon. I have played many games against Shawn growing up and it's cool to see him do well in NY.

What's Chacon like in person? He's one of my favorite Yankees after he saved the team last year.

Well... I have many Chacon stories. Shawn was a great athlete growing up. Everyone in Greeley knew he was going to be something special. I don't think anyone really envisioned him starting for the NY Yankees though. He was the golden boy here in Greeley. I personally didn't like him much when we were kids, but I haven't talked to him since high school so I am sure he matured and grew up. He really did not a lot of growing up to do. He's actually having a house built next to a good friend of mine, atleast he was before he was traded away from Colorado, not sure anymore.
