1-21. Not the kind of record anyone wants for their I-AA football program or any team at all, especially when the university has invested millions the last few years in trying to change the course of the football program. Texas Southern is light years removed from their past success and coach Wilson definitely has his worked cut out for him in the SWAC this year.

Texas Southern football coach Steve Wilson calls the start of spring practices today just another ritual in the repetitious world of a college program.
But after an 0-11 record in 2004, a 1-10 mark last season and facing next fall with no definite starting quarterback, these spring drills could be among the most critical the Tigers have endured.
Wilson, who begins his third season as coach in September, downplays the significance of the 15 practice sessions that span the next three weeks.
