Per ESPN:

The Southeastern Conference is not extending an invitation to Texas A&M to become its 13th member, but isn't ruling out adding the Aggies in the future.

University of Florida president Dr. Bernie Machen said the conference's presidents and chancellors met on Sunday and "reaffirmed our satisfaction with the present 12 institutional alignment."

"We recognize, however, that future conditions may make it advantageous to expand the number of institutions in the league," Machen said. "We discussed criteria and process associated with expansion. No action was taken with respect to any institution including Texas A&M."

Not a big deal but if you could start these threads in the proper forum it would be appreciated in the future.

Removing your lips from previously mentioned hammy *** would have you see that this is exactly what I was in the process of doing.

Slive and the SEC will not technically contribute to the breakup of the Big 12. That said, if A&M removes itself and is available, then the ball game is on.

That is precisely what the SEC said and to add to that they are the hottest thing in town and the big 12 is dying a slow cancerous death...

You barely scratched the surface there....lots of blogs and articles based on so-called insider info have identified many more possibilities....

N.C. State?
UNC?
Georgia Tech? (not gonna happen...but it has been mentioned).
Clemson?
UVA ?
Louisville?
TCU?
Baylor? (based on something to do with Texas politics).
Okie State (if they had to take em to get OU).
Maryland?

I'm probably missing a few other schools....bloggers are having lots of fun speculating.

But now the question is, if A&M wants out so badly, and apparently they do, would the Pac-12 enter the picture as a suitor???

Once the A&M BOR votes today to join the SEC, then the SEC will meet again, and vote to let them in.

Once that happens, the Aggies will go "Whoop" and then this will all be over.

Awkward for Texas A&M. Which teams haven't tried to leave the Big 12? Baylor?

Kansas, K State, Iowa St, Baylor and Ok State... the schools no one wants.

One of the Texas A&M higher ups said at this point, they've gone so far with it, they'd join the Sun Belt to get away from Texas. Going back to the Big 12 definitely isn't happening.

Technically Ok State was part of the almost Pac-10 secession movement last year, and you could arguably count Baylor as I think some in the Texas gov't tried to shoehorn the Bears into that group as well

It would be funny if A&M resigned from the Big XII and then the SEC said they still didn't want them.
