Three starters from UVA were dismissed from the team and mention possibly transferring. If Delaware catches grief for accepting kids who have graduated, what will people think of the schools who take in guys run off at UVA (not easy to do)?

You know, hooray for Groh...It's well about time the coaching staffs "punts" these clowns rather than making excuses for them. I can't tell you how many times people were telling me how much they loved the Eagles for how they handled the TO situation.

I wouldn't be upset if JMU took Brooks.

Brooks will enter the supplemental draft. I was surprised he didn't leave after last year anyway.

Brooks will enter the supplemental draft. I was surprised he didn't leave after last year anyway.

He fell from a top 15 pick down to a possible second day selection.

All 3 would be instant impact transfers at 1AA schools. However, they bring a lot of baggage with them. However, they've shown that they care only about themselves. Franklin was a team captain. He was supposed to be a leader. There have been a lot of rumors about these guys for a long time. These guys aren't far from Marcus Vick status.

Vince Redd could be quite a pickup by someone, as could Tony Franklin. I know Brooks will go pro. All of this pretty much pisses me off, as a UVA student, because these idiots continue to stain our football program. One of our top recruits from last year, and one who played a lot this year at corner, was arrested yesterday.

This is nothing new to UVA. I'd argue that they're in better shape than 5-10 years ago. I can remember when an elite basketball player (ended up at Mr. St. Mary's) got into a fight and stabbed two football players during an official visit. Rumors of assaults, weapons, drugs, etc. is common place among a lot of the BCS programs. The fact that UVA is releasing kids is a start in the right direction. The spread of message boards has eliminated some of the secrecy in which problems used to operate.

To me, Redd is the only one I'd be ok with UR accepting. He'd have to sit a year to prove himself off the field and if he's willing to do that, than he'll earn the right to play his last year. However, I imagine I'm probably in the minority.

Until Greg Schiano became Head Coach, Rutgers really covered up a lot of stuff which embarrassed the program under Doug Graber and Terry Shea - it seemed like they lost 10-15 players off the roster for "unspecified violation of team rules", but no one was ever aware of what really happened.

These days, if Schiano has a bad guy, he runs him out and the school backs him up - and vice versa when it comes to academic issues. I'd much rather have a coach who tries hard to sustain the integrity of the school, even if you have more losing seasons.

Brooks and Co.

Liberty University head coach Danny Rocco said he has requested permission to speak to three football players who have been dropped from Virginia's roster -- Ahmad Brooks, Vince Redd and Tony Franklin -- and that release forms were on his desk by Wednesday morning.

Rocco, previously the assistant head coach at Virginia, was the Cavaliers' lead recruiter on Redd and Franklin. If they were to transfer to a Division I-AA program, they would have instant eligibility, and Redd could play for two more seasons.
