Germantown Semi-Pro Football Team Allows Adults To Keep Playing (http://www.gazette.net/article/20110810/SPORTS/708109916/1023/1023/germantown-semi-pro-team-allows-adults-to-continue-to-play-football&template=gazette)
When Dan Atwood thinks about football, all he can do is smile. When the former Gaithersburg High School standout thinks about life without football, he is eerily speechless.
“I just love this game,” he said. “Without it, I don’t know what I’d do or where I would be. Being able to still play after high school and college is amazing.”
Atwood, a 2007 All-Gazette first team selection at running back and 2006 first team defensive back, is like nearly 50 other men who are reliving their glory days this summer. They all play for the Germantown Gladiators, a first-year semi-professional organization in the Mid-Atlantic Football League.
