Reported today that former UNH running back, Jerry Azumah, has retired due to recurring hip and back problems. He was a classic, dominating I-AA running back. Sorry to see the career end 'sooner' than expected,(he played 7 years), although I've seen statistics that the average 'life' of an NFL running back is about 2.5 years. Best of luck in the future!

When I did my usual I-AA search, that article came up big overnight last night across the nation. Wonder why it took so long when it became apparent a few days ago...

Azumah wasn't an NFL runningback, he played Safety and Cornerback for the bears.

Correct--Although didn't he do some returning of kickoffs and / or punts? I always thought of him as a RB from his days at UNH.
