Who do you think will be the first I-AA star off the board in April?

One pay site that I am a member of has Paul McQuistan, a 6'6", 312 pound offensive tackle from Weber St going as pick #94 (overall) at the end of the third round.

Other I-AAs favored to go before the rest of the pack include CB David Pittman of Northwestern St, WR Miles Austin of Monmouth, DE Jason Hatcher of Grambling, and QB Erik Meyer of Easter Washington...all in the first four, five rounds...

Still listed as on the outside looking in, but stock rising...

I think Pittman will go first based on being a corner... he has good speed and teams can always use db's with speed. I think Hatcher will be the next highest 1AA picked.

Agreed. I think he is an early third rounder. I think Kevin Booth will go in that same area. Opposed to last year i do not believe that there will be a I-AAer drafted in the second round.

I think Chris Kuper is likely to move ahead of all these guys...the most underrated player of the bunch. He was the ONLY 1-AA Guard invited to Indianapolis (Boothe went as an OT).

Willie Colon OG Hofstra.

The latest on Colon...

04/15/06 - Non-Combine Sleeper: Willie Colon, OL, Hofstra: Colon, 6-3, 320, has started each of the past three seasons for Hofstra at right tackle. Though he has earned acknowledgement throughout much of his career, Colon improved as his career went on and he was recognized as an All-Atlantic 10 first team selection, as well as a first team I-AA All-American as selected by both the Walter Camp Foundation and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). Colon might lack the size to play outside, but is athletic, intelligent, and hard-working. When it is all said and done Colon might end up being the first drafted among those not invited to the Combine.

I don't see how Gocong wouldn't be the first 1-AAer draft. The kid is a monster.

The 'Other' field won the 'First I-AA Player to be Drafted', despite the fact that some of those putting other were open about individuals not named Tavaris Jackson of Alabama State...

The most slept on player in 1-AA

I wouldn't say that because first off there's no such thing as '1-AA'. :)

In all reality, he was ranked higher than any other I-AA QB in pre-draft rankings. He's come on strong and there were quite a few NFL mock drafts that had him third or fourth round...
