New South Dakota Coyotes helmet?

Haven't seen anything official on the Coyotes website (http://www.usdcoyotes.com/sports/football/index.asp), but the Helmet Project is showing this as the new helmet for 2011:

Personally, I like the paw and "U" logo better.

My alumni email said the new logo will be unveiled on 8/27/11 at Scheels in Sioux Falls, with clothing bearing the new logo available on that date. I am guessing the new helmet will still have the paw, but with an SD instead of a U inside the paw. You can go to the USD message board goyotes.net and look at a the new basketball floor thread in the basketball section for a picture of the new basketball floor with the logo in the middle of the court.

If that is indeed the new logo I think it looks sharp. xthumbsupx Glad you guys kept the paw. No affiliation with USD in any way, but I've always dug the logo for some reason. Nice looking court as well.

They also copied big brother into the Missouri Valley and Summit League too.

As a neutral I'll weight in and say I prefer this new SD design to the SD State design. This one is more crisp and unique the SD State one sort of goofy and sloppy looking.

I dunno, they're both pretty good looking in their own ways. I kinda wish NDSU had an "ND" logo. We're the only of the Dakota 4 schools without a monogrammed logo of our state name.

See and I like the Bison on your helmets, I wished UND would have had the Indian logo on theirs, but has always had the UND on their helmet.

I would guess it has to do with recruiting, kids wanna be impressed.
I don't see how it would factor into actual practice though.

Depends if the Montana schools go the WAC route then yes the Summit/MVFC would be ideal but as of now the Big Sky is all the talk of the town.

I really like that new helmet. I must be in the minority though...
